General Network Information

The Colorado School of Mines network is composed primarily of 100Mb/s switched ethernet connections within campus buildings and 1000Mb/s connections between buildings. 802.11b/g (54Mb/s) wireless ethernet is available in most academic buildings and residence halls. For upstream connectivity, CSM operates an OC-3 to the Front Range GigaPop (FRGP). This connection provides the campus with high speed access to the Internet and the research and education oriented Internet2 and National Lamda Rail networks.
